About Me
As a young Dutch boy having grown up on a boat my eyes were skilled in seeing far into the distant horizon. I didn’t know then that I would be making my living based upon the way I see the world.
I began my career as a photographer which fit me like a glove and allowed me to travel around the world creating a wide variety of reportages.
I love hunting for that perfect moment and capturing it just in the nick of time to tell the story.
For over 20 years I was co-founder, art director & photo-editor of TCS, a feature agency that provided international magazines ready to publish stories that included image and text.
We represented over a hundred photographers and journalists with whom I sat down to discuss, and review their works and then I’d put together selections that had a special hook that magazines could count on for publishing.
With my own work I’ve been fortunate enough to be published in The New York Times, Marie Claire, Geo, Condé Nast Traveler, Figaro Magazine, The Independent, National Geographic , Rolling Stone, Elle and Wired and have created 10 books on varying subjects from food and lifestyle to architecture and craftsmanship.
I made the leap into film as the world went digital. My years of experience of looking through a lens helped make the transition easier. For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by music but particularly african drumming and rhythm.
In 2004 I traveled to Africa with a team of friends and family where we worked together documenting specific african rhythms. The ‘Foli’ was one of the films to emerge from this and went viral on YouTube with over 19 million hits and 191,000 likes and has been nominated for several film festivals.
Some recent works include having worked for the Emir of Qatar filming falcon hunting in the Sahara, as well as directing a soon to be released documentary about a young man with a rare disease (Bor) and an on-going project is the ‘High Cuisine’ brand, a culinary tv series …… that was aired on Dutch Television and soon to be released internationally.
I’m looking forward to creating more projects about things that are not only interesting and beautiful but subjects that matter and make a difference.
The Creative Team
I’ve been lucky enough to work with a highly skilled team of colleagues that are also friends and family. Together we offer a one-stop shop that provides the services of an advertising agency without the high costs of the middlemen.
We are a group of cross-media specialists with a passion for storytelling that believe that every brand has its own unique story to tell and how you tell that story determines whether it is memorable and has impact or not.
We provide concept ideation, branding, strategy, copywriting, graphics, photography, film, post production and web development. Together we have helped hundreds of clients grow their business so their voices echo above the chatter through quality content, communication and branding.

Consulting
In the ever changing landscape of media & technology, being adaptable is essential. As a photographer & filmmaker with over 25 years of experience in the industry it’s never been as simple as just snapping a photo or making a film. It all begins with a story and after many years of working as an art director I’ve helped clients adapt, understand and visualise what’s important to their business and / or service.
Volunteering
As part of the foundation Stichting Act, I worked on several international charity projects bringing music, art and entertainment to the children of Mostar, South Africa and Mongolia (in conjunction with War Child.
My beautiful family – my heart, they’re a big part of all that I do and all that I am.
