The secret entrance to the attic where Jewish teenager Anne frank and her family hid during the German occupation of Amsterdam in WW2. Anne kept a diary recording her family’s experiences in hiding. They were eventually betrayed and imprisoned. Anne and her sister Margot died of typhoid fever in Bergen-Belsen in March 1945, only a few weeks before the concentration camp was liberated. Otto Frank, her father, the only member of the group to survive, published her diary after the war. It has been translated into 55 languages. Now the Anne Frank house is the most popular attraction for visitors to Amsterdam. It aims to educate people about tolerance and the horrors of racial prejudice and genocide. Typical gable tops of Amsterdam canalside houses. The gables disguised the steepness of the roofs under which goods were stored. Like the world discovered my back yard ..the alway’s village like feel started to chance
The language on the street became more English and groups of tourist started wandering the streets
I understand ..it’s a great city !
Even I know a lot special places yet there is still so much to discover .
